We learnt effective marketing and utilising all the tools we have at our disposal, such as maximising Instagram and Facebook tools as well as the importance of aesthetics as we work to expand our marketing reach in our start-up. We managed to understand and network with companies such as Partipost and RICE Media.

An event that aims to promote inter-generational bonding and active ageing lifestyle among elderly. We were invited by our Industry Mentor, U 3rd Age, to provide an opportunity for us to promote ourselves and potentially find industry partners to work with in terms of beneficiaries and corporate orders.

 

We managed to network with ActiveSG, which we have also followed up on for potential collaboration.

An event which taught us effective and fundamental communication required for business negotiations and meetings.

5TH DBS-NUS SOCIAL VENTURE CHALLENGE ASIA GRAND FINALE 

16-18 October 2018

An Asia-wide competition for social enterprises organised by DBS Foundation and NUS Enterprise. We got to watch other social entrepreneurs from other countries (e.g. Taiwan, Indonesia, India etc.) pitch new innovative ideas and existing social ventures, providing us greater exposure and insights to the industry.

A conference where we learnt about social innovation and exposed ourselves to the social entrepreneurship industry. We gained more insights towards the prevalent social issues and the solutions that other organisations are taking to tackle them. 

 

This conference was also where we managed to find and network with our key partner, Mr Peter, from ECSS.

SINGAPORE FINTECH FESTIVAL 2018

12-16 November 2018

Singapore EXPO 

​

A festival which exposed us to different online payment methods, the security it brings, and the convenience as compared to cash.

​

This was especially useful for our start-up as we were keen to understand more about the different online payment methods available as an online-based business.

We were able to work with LB for 6 seniors for befriending sessions. LB also expressed their interest to discuss more in the future. 

ECSS

Have potential in long-term collaboration as discussed from our first meeting. Keen to explore more diversifications of our concepts in the future.

Mr Peter and Ms Gladys shared with us many insights regarding their organisation and seniors which allowed us to hold an event specially for their seniors.

NUS ENTERPRISE

Managed to introduce our course of study to NUS Enterprise and sought for potential collaborations in the future. 

ACTIVESG

Had a short meeting after our network during Silver Fiesta 2018. We discussed about the areas for potential collaborations in the future, and specially mentioned about its cool concept.

U 3RD AGE

Served as our Industry Mentor who provided us with many opportunities to visit and network with different groups of people, to promote our business and social cause.

SEEDZSTUDIO

Met during Our Tampines Hub New Year Countdown Booth Sales. Nancy, an artist, approached us for a pop-up booth collaboration in February 16-17, who saw the potential of our business. 

THE SANDBOX

Funded our start-up with $1,000 to support our business and social cause. We also managed to connect with Block 58's in-charge for putting our bags on display.
